The all-action forward has impressed since arriving from Bristol City last month, buzzing about in the No.10 role, spraying some superb balls around the pitch and generally looking a creative menace.
And, having again starred as the Blues put in one of their best displays of the season in winning 2-1 at in-form Derby County yesterday, Mehmeti told Sky Sports he’s here to help Town get back to the Premier League.

“We know Pride Park is always a tough place to come and today was about bouncing back from our last two results, and we certainly did that,” he stressed.
“The boys dug in and we were glad to get the three points.”
Albanian international Mehmeti continued: “I’m loving my time here. I came here with the ambition to get promoted with this great club.
“So I’m enjoying my time and taking each day as it comes, enjoying my football and trying to contribute to wins.”

Of the rest of the season, he concluded: “We’re confident. The lads have done this before.
“We just take each day and each game as it comes. For me, we’re probably the strongest side in the division.
“So we’ve got every chance to do what we need to do, and that’s win games and hopefully reach our goal at the end of the season.”

Leif Davis says he’s ‘buzzing’ to have Mehmeti as a team-mate (Image: Ross Halls)
Leif Davis, who scored the winning goal with a cracking header yesterday, also spoke of the boost Mehmeti has given the Blues – having had an inkling he was on his way to Suffolk when he visited Portman Road with the Robins just days before signing.
“We’re 100% enjoying having him here, we know he’s quality,” Davis enthused.
“I spoke to him when we played Bristol at home and said ‘are you coming?’ and he said ‘yeah, I think so’ and I was buzzing when he said that because I know the quality he’s got and how hard he works on and off the ball.
“Having him in the team is incredible, so I’m buzzing he’s here.”
