I read the stat that after 25 games last season we were 3rd with 47 points as compared with 17th and 26 points this. 21 points difference. Now I know we have had managerial shenanigans so take that as read. But it did occur to me that ten of our first team from last season are still at the club and would be first choices. (We could field the exact same defence and defensive mid as last year if we chose to.) The only one of our best team we sold was Elanga. The only other one who hasn't played regularly is the injured Wood. Ah, but there's a thing because Elanga-Wood just happened to be our most potent combination last season. Elanga has provided 11 Premier League assists for Wood. You could say we sold/lost the channel that made a lot of our goals last season. (And seemingly never replaced it.) Is it coincidental we have the second lowest goals in the Prem? Why have the rest taken such a dip in performance? Is it all down to managers?
