Even if people think we’re not in the box enough to get penalties, there are still many times where we should get a penalty but the referees decide not to give it. Other clubs such as Arsenal, United, and Liverpool will always get those same decisions in their favour.

Everyone here says we don’t have the ball in the box, but the truth is we’re “ok.” We’re 12th with 585 touches. For reference, Brentford has 589 and Palace 588, and they had 7 and 5 penalties, respectively. Obviously more touches in the box doesn’t necessarily correlate with number of pens, but touches in the box is not the main problem.
Handball by scarles on west ham was a pen for me. There was another game where gray got sandwiched bt two defenders in the box and somehow no call. Struggling to remember any other ones

This isn’t shocking. We rarely have control of the ball in the box under Frank.

Last year we actually finished middle of the pack with 4 penalties given in the league. The year before we were joint last with 2. Going year by year, we usually get 4 or 5, the occasional 6.
Some interesting exceptions – 16/17, we got a whopping 9! Conversely, 12/13 we didn’t even get 1.
Generally we sit in the middle of the penalties awarded table most years.
