In equivalent matches (same opponent/venue) we have gathered exactly the same number of points as last season and 12 fewer than 24/24 (Graphs 1 and 2)

We are in the same table position as we were last year after MW 24 (Graph 5)

Although our form (Graph 7, gren line) over the last 5 (arbitrarily) matches is "relegation form" ( dashed red line), our xPTS "form" (dashed purple line) is as good as the 23/24 season (dashed gray line), which indicates the team is creating better opportunities to win than what the actual results show (Graph 7)

Our performance against City at home was similar to the last 2 years, but with a better outcome (Graph 8, left panel). We dominated United last season (Graph 8, right panel).

  1. This is the weekly analysis that I share after each matchweek, regardless of the result. In other words, there is no agenda.

MW24 is a full comparison. The next full comparison will be after the upcoming MW27.

This passes the eye test. We are just as bad as last year in terms of gathering points (but playing worse football).

  3. It’s official. If Thomas Frank doesn’t win the Champions League, this is on track to be the worse season in living memory.

To look on the brighter side (from a bleak current situation), the expected points look to be constantly increasing.
