Kovacic, Kante, Jorginho, Loftus Cheek, Zakaria, Chukwuemeka. More attacking Mount and Gallagher. Depending on the formation and what you want to call a midfielder Felix. Majority of those options have been injured throughout the season, but don't give me this nonsense about improving them with some kid who's played less than a full season at Brighton. You would have said the same about any of the current options if they had a few decent performances at another club.

caicedo need his partner like macalister to perform, but at chelsea, who will partner with caicedo? we need a midfielder that is same profile with macalister hence we actually need 2 midfielder….
Gab was wondering about Enzo and Caicedo being different profiles of midfielders "so what is it?". It's both! Enzo a central mid with that passing range while Caicedo the deeper lying defensive midfielder. Chelsea need both. That is the answer to Gab's question.
The summer window was so poorly done, overspending dramatically on Fofana and Cucurella – while the other targets like Sterling, Koulibaly and Aubamayang were just simply poor targets – that's why all the fuss now. Boehle led that summer window, I have no idea who was feeding him targets, doubtful it was Tuchel considering the state of their relationship and knowing he was going to be sacked – regardless though, it was a disaster.
January window has Boehle out of the job and Vivell, Winstanley, Shields and others doing the work of recruitment – which should have been the case in the summer to begin with.
They're going to correct those mistakes but ya, the team is a mess, targets everywhere, including goalie. No coverage for a right back from the injury prone James.
They'll need to start selling players soon, which they will. Only so many spots on the squad, I believe it's 25. Bodies will be out the door.

You guys are absolutely bang on about Chelsea's midfield deficiency. But then the entire league is trying to make winning teams by having "hitmen" in the team. Klopp and Pep have led the way though one can argue that De Bruyne is a midfielder. But he is in an out and out attacking mode most of the time with nobody controlling the pace of the game. Results have come yeah but its clearly not a long term strategy to build enduring teams.

The price I'm seeing for for Caicedo is too much. Enzo is also overpriced but he will change the entire attack. The club just seems to be buying any young tallent but they all can't fit into the first team without selling some players
If havertz actually worked harder he can score 15+ goals a season
