The boss has spearheaded a turn in fortunes for Bournemouth, as they successfully ended a run of 11 games without a win and went on to a run of four games unbeaten, where they currently stand.

In recognition of a good month, Iraola has received his fifth manager of the month nomination – winning twice, in March 2024 and January 2025.

The month began with a defeat to league leaders Arsenal, although the Cherries gave the Gunners a run for their money.

They ultimately fell to a 2-3 loss, after being level at 1-1 at the interval. A Declan Rice brace in the second half gave the visitors control, but Junior Kroupi gave the Cherries hope with 14 minutes to play, although they could not find the equaliser.

But the Cherries returned to winning ways with their first three points since the end of October next time out against Spurs.

It was a hugely dramatic victory, as Bournemouth fell behind early on before taking a first half 2-1 lead through Evanilson and Kroupi goals.

Spurs got themselves level with 12 minutes left to play, but Antoine Semenyo bid farewell to the Cherries faithful ahead of a move to Manchester City with a stoppage time winner.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties at Newcastle, Bournemouth returned to league action and were close to securing back-to-back wins when they visited Brighton.

But an injury time overhead kick equaliser from Charalampos Kostoulas earned the Seagulls a point and cancelled out Marcus Tavernier’s first half penalty.

The Cherries, though, responded with two wins on the bounce to end the month.

The first was another dramatic 3-2, as Bournemouth defeated Liverpool.

They raced to a two-goal advantage thanks to Evanilson and Alex Jimenez strikes, before Virgil van Dijk got one back before the break and Dominik Szoboszlai equalised ten minutes from time.

But Amine Adli finished after a scramble in the box from a James Hill long through again in stoppage time to secure all three points.

That was followed by a professional 2-0 win over Wolves at Molineux last weekend, Kroupi again on the scoresheet with a stunning half volley, before Alex Scott confirmed the points at the death.

Iraola is up against Manchester United’s Michael Carrick, Nottingham Forest’s Sean Dyche and Chelsea’s Liam Rosenior for the award.
