During the January transfer window West Ham brought in a few new players including Axel Disasi, who signed on loan from Chelsea.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference Santo said: “Yes, I am definitely a lot happier. We have rebalanced the squad and we are a lot happier. We now have more options.”
On Disasi, Santo said: “He has been working and physically he is in a good place. He seems good and of course he now needs to get into the team. He needs to get to know his teammates, but I think he help us a lot.”
“He is a strong defender. He is good on the ball. He is a good option. We are assessing whether he ready to play against Burnley.”
Santo also expressed his views on last week’s red shown to Jean-Clair Todibo. The defender was sent off in injury time for losing his temper against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Santo said: “It was a mistake. We cannot afford to make mistakes. Especially at this stage of the season. We will now be with out him for a few games. Discipline is vital for us.”
The Hammers boss also said the game against Burnley will be difficult and admires the work effort of Scott Parker’s team.
He said: “We played them here at the London Staduim. It will be hard. They are a team that are always ready. I heard Scott Parkers comments after the game, and you can tell they are a team that always ready.”
Burnley are winless in their last seven Premier League games against West Ham (D3 L4), having won four of their previous five against them (L1).
