West Hants Club, located on Roslin Road South, closed for a brief period after police were called to the address following an early hours break-in.

Officers attended shortly before 4am on February 5 and found that forced entry had been gained, with a cash tin, bank card and two trophies stolen.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 3.47am of an alarm sounding at the West Hants Lawn Tennis Club in Roslin Road South in Bournemouth.

“Officers attended and it was reported that entry had been forced to the premises and items stolen including a cash tin, bank card and two trophies.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, no arrests have been made.”

After advising their members that the site was closed until further notice, they have now issued an update stating that they have reopened, apologising for any convenience caused.

A spokesperson for the club said: “We are pleased to share that the club will reopen today at 10am.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused this morning.”
