Michael Carrick turned to the 22-year-old Slovenia striker in the second half of Man Utd’s 3-2 win over Fulham in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Sesko replaced Matheus Cunha in the 74th minute while United were comfortably leading Fulham before the Red Devils blew a 2-0 lead in the space of six minutes.

However, Carrick was able to notch up his third consecutive Premier League win after Sesko fired home an injury-time winner for Man Utd against Fulham.

Bruno Fernandes was able to play a dangerous low cross from the right side of the box and Fulham left summer signing Benjamin Sesko unmarked deep in injury time.

Sesko used his first touch to control Bruno Fernandes’ cross before the composed Manchester United striker turned and fired a superb strike into the top-right corner.

United were able to maintain their late lead over Fulham at Old Trafford and Michael Carrick’s men walked away with all three Premier League points on Sunday.

Michael Owen insisted that Sesko’s impact was a “huge moment” for the Slovenia and Man Utd forward after his struggles at Old Trafford in his debut season.

“Wow, everything [Carrick] touches turns to gold at the minute,” he said, as per Premier League’s official website.

“Fantastic for Manchester United. Keep snowballing on and he’ll want that momentum to continue.

“Fulham deserved to get back into the game, but that was a huge moment for Benjamin Sesko.”

Sesko has netted six times in 21 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils since his stunning initial £66.3m move from RB Leipzig last August.

“Wow. If anybody needed it, it was the kid Sesko,” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live, as per BBC Sport.

“Wonderful skill from Fernandes, he does Bassey with a dummy.

“Sesko’s first touch is marvellous and then he smashes it in the top corner. That is what Old Trafford is all about.”

United are fourth in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are one point clear of fifth-place Chelsea and five points behind third-place Aston Villa.
