I guess this one isnt going to be most popular destination for a traveling fan. So, I wanna try my luck and get to the game.

How likely it is for a fan with no history (no points, no Mag or Mag+) to get a ticket in away end?
And what is the procedure should be? There are dates for ST holders and no other info. Does it mean that it wont go further than that?

So, any insight from someone familiar with the process will be helpful

  1. Wait, why won’t this be a popular fixture? Distance/cost? 12,000 tourists go to Baku for F1 every year – heard a lot of positive stories about people’s trips there.

  2. I still think most diehards will go, Baku is a great city, and is popular for other sporting events, so not sure why it’d be “unpopular”, that said , getting there isn’t as easy, or quick (Around 6 hours direct), compared to traveling to places in the EU…. I worked in Baku and you’ll have to connect through Heathrow or somewhere like Schipol/CDG/Frankfurt, and you’ll also need to apply / pay for a visa to enter Azerbaijan, that said I’m pretty sure you can apply via e-visa now, so certainly not as difficult as it used to be, not sure what the costs are visa wise, but I’ll be shocked it’s anymore than £100.

Probably a hell of a lot safer than Marseilles for example. It’ll be rammed at Baku.
