So basically everything that we’ve been seeing with our own eyes over the last 5 months

Yeah we’ve been loudly complaining about this since I think matchweek 3.
He’s been found out in the league and everyone has had a pretty easy time countering it. All they have to do is sit back and chuck a couple defenders at our isolated winger to win the ball back and then they can run freely down midfield because our DM falls in line with our CBs allowing a wide open space just outside the box.

Genuinely infuriating that everyone – literally everyone, from fans to rivals to analysts – can see that this is our major issue and yet Frank still refuses to change it. Our absolute lack of viable midfield passing options/triangles kills us every. single. game.
The fix for it isn’t even that difficult either. Just have our midfield sit deeper. Let runners actually run off from them. Give people a passing lane.

His analysis on Xavi’s time at Leipzig compared to here is apples and oranges my guy. Generalizing so much

I get why, in theory, the club thought Frank would be able to be successful here, but the reality is that a manager’s style of play is actually a far better indicator of the ability to scale to a bigger club than results. The cross-and-inshallah tactics just don’t scale at top Premier League clubs. The same thing has happened throughout David Moyes’ career, for example. Can overachieve at Everton or West Ham, but it doesn’t scale to a Manchester United.

If only we had a goalkeeper who was good at playing with their feet

People who still think Xavi is bad should watch this

Not a good video. The point he completely glossed over is that Vic needs to be able to hit the intermediate pass out wide to punish the defense and he consistently fails to do that so instead he just hoofs it long.
In the video where he passes to van De Ven, Udogie is wide open past the defender pressing on to VDV.
He has zero qualifications as a tactico.

Good thing this analysis vid will be useless when we move to a back 3/wingback system for the rest of the season probably

This is actually outdated with our recent 343-ish system being quite different from this vids suggests…..
But yea, it was obvious that the old system doesn’t work, and we will wait to see if the new system works better (partially helped by the availability of Solanke).

This whole ‘hes been found out’ argument is demonstrably stupid. Of course tactics are going to be ‘found out’ – every team in the prem has loads of full-time analysts… we’re not talking about quantum physics here.
The teams that succeed find a way of having everyone pull in the same direction, almost regardless of tactics… and that way of getting everyone on the same page is almost always through having a straight talking, clear eyed, charismatic and resilient leader. Frank needs to be sacked, not because he’s been found out, but because he doesn’t possess those qualities to the extent he needs to succeed

Oh I thought Thomas Frank “transformed Spurs after 2 games” James. This guy is beyond clueless and one of the worst tactico morons.

Hoof it football with a goalkeeper that can’t kick past the halfway line
