Jamie O’Hara delivers verdict on Raheem Sterling moving to Tottenham

O’Hara has been talking a lot about Spurs and their struggles this season, despite them finishing fourth in the league phase of the Champions League.

They currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League and are in desperate need of a change in fortune.

The talkSPORT presenter believes that Raheem Sterling would be a good signing for the Lilywhites, and he would want his former club to sign the ex-Arsenal attacker.

O’Hara told talkSPORT: “I would have him at Tottenham.

“I would absolutely take Sterling at Tottenham. I think he’s a good player. He’s better than what we’ve got.

“I’d sign him on a contract to the end of the season if he was willing to do that.

“I don’t know what other offers he’s got in terms of, he might have a long-term contract in Saudi offering him loads of money.

“But if the candle is still lit and he wants to still be a Premier League football player, I would give him an opportunity at Tottenham.”

Sterling was on £325,000/week wages at Chelsea, but he left the Blues by mutual consent this week.

The 31-year-old had another 18 months left to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge.

However, the decision was made that he would not be continuing, and he is now a free agent in the final days of the January transfer window.

If Spurs are looking to sign him, they can bring him without shelling out a transfer fee, and their only expense would be his wages.

Thus far, Tottenham have not made contact, but things could change in the coming days.

Sterling is understood to be keen on staying in London, but has options abroad as well.

Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen are two among several clubs that have looked into the possibility of signing the England international.
