Not if Neves and Ruiz are fit to play i would say
He doesn’t really have a choice with the absentees; the signing of Dro seems to indicate that he’s aiming for a 4-3-3 formation in the long term.
As Ruiz isn’t fit then yeah I expect doué in the 10 role in a 4231. Other than that if the three are fit I don’t see Enrique pass on having the best midfield itw operate together
We’ve never played a traditionial 433 either. Our midfielders and fullbacks give plenty of options in attack, while attackers and wingers come back to defend or help build up. It’s a very fluid system where almost anyone can slip in different positions. We started our season with our “typical 3 man midfield” scoring most of our goals, with a special mention for Joao Neves’ hattrick. Like him, Ruiz provides tons of forward runs and is regularly positioned like a 9, while Vitinha always follows through on attacks.
