Douglas Luiz is coming home.
Unai Emery's high-flying side have reportedly agreed a deal with Juventus to sign the 27-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy Luiz in the summer.
After an underwhelming few years away, the Brazilian midfielder is back where he belongs, at #AVFC.
Returning after an almost two-year absence, Luiz will find Villa Park to be very different to how he left it. As it stands, Aston Villa trail Premier League leaders Arsenal by just four points.
A safe pair of hands, who knows the club inside out, Douglas Luiz could be the catalyst that fires Villa to the top of the table.
Only time will tell…

Face value, seems the perfect solution. I’m really happy if it gets confirmed and I have every faith he will rediscover his form with us under a manager who knows how to use him and a system that gets the best of him.
No guarantees in football, might flop, but we’d be crazy to pass this opportunity up in the circumstances
Google “recurrent hamstring Douglas Luiz”. We are taking a gamble that he will stay fit and will probably have to manage his game time, which is something we have failed to do with Tielemans, Kamara and McGinn.
I for one am very excited for the return of the returning Douglas Luiz’s return to return to Aston Villa.
I feel like that bald cunt should never be allowed to grace these pages.
Happy to see Douglas back though.
If Luiz can stay fit, and not be lazy off the ball, he should be a better option than Gallagher.
Excited, players know him. Our midfield is the same mostly. Fans and manager and players loved him. Despite us having 3 of our best players out, I weirdly feel positive. Can you imagine the chaos if we manage to scrape another 12/15 points before they come back.
Dreams will have to be had about that title.
Not good but we don’t have many options. He is more injury prone than Onana with a tenth of the athleticism. If he can pull it together for 2 or 3 games to bridge the gap I’ll be happy.
Think he’s just been waiting to get back to Villa. It’s clear he loves the club and a chance to get us back into Champions League is going to surely get him back to peak.
Good to see him back. I’ve not seen enough of him recently to see if he’s at the level we want but I liked him at villa previously
I’m thrilled. I think he really wants to be with us and will be very motivated to work hard for us.
Over the half moon about it. He said his heart is at villa
I love the guy and I won’t be judging him until I see him in a Villa shirt again. For now, he’s the same player that I was gutted to see leave us.
I never wanted to see him leave. Although Youri’s ascension softened the blow.
I think he had more potential than he’s shown, injuries being a contributing factor, but he knows his way around, he may have a point to prove on account of the spending shenanigans that saw him leave and he’s no stranger to playing on a rainy weekday evening.
Alisha’s just signed for Leicester – coincidental these two star crossed , on and off lovers will be living close by each other again ?
