Manchester United are weighing up what would be a sensational move for one of the Premier League’s most exciting players to watch.

Michael Carrick has had an incredible start to his interim reign in charge of Man United, convincingly beating Manchester City before travelling to league leaders Arsenal, who they beat 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium. The Red Devils will no doubt be focused on maintaining their form as, in the final days of the transfer window, the club continue to be linked with potential incomings.

He has attracted attention with his form and potential

Man United are yet to bring in any new faces this winter, though veteran midfielder Casemiro has announced he will depart the club at the season’s end.

Against Arsenal, following his exceptional goal, Patrick Dorgu was withdrawn from the game due to injury. The Dane had been brilliant in a more advanced role under Carrick, but is now set for 10 weeks out on the sidelines.

Perhaps in response to this injury setback, the club have now been touted with making what would be an incredible signing.

Everton star on the radar of Manchester United

TEAMtalk have reported that Man United are expected to weigh up a move for Iliman Ndiaye. Comfortable playing up front but at his best on the wing, Ndiaye recently won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, amidst a campaign in which, for Everton, he has been one of their standout players.

In 17 Premier League appearances so far this season, Ndiaye has scored four goals and notched two assists. The forward also scored what was the only goal in Senegal’s AFCON quarter-final victory over Mali.

Ndiaye’s quality is what has generated Man United’s interest in him and is something that is not only apparent to onlooking fans, but to those he shares the pitch with. Everton teammate Jack Grealish, speaking on Stan Sport podcast, had nothing but praise for the Senegalese sensation.

“Ndiaye is the most skilful player in the Premier League. In terms of pure skill, yeah. I’m not sitting here saying, oh yeah, he could be the best, but skilful. [Bukayo] Saka, for example, is so good, one of the best players in the world. But he’s not skilful.”

Reportedly, it is likely that any bid for Ndiaye, under contract on Merseyside until 2029, would need to rival Everton’s record sale for them to consider a departure. That fee stands at £75 million, set in 2017 when Romelu Lukaku departed the Toffees for, ironically enough, Manchester United.

It would seem that any move from the Red Devils would be made in the summer, by which point they will have a new permanent manager. Not only that, but it may make the most financial sense, given the spending done in what proved to be Ruben Amorim’s only summer transfer window in charge of Man United.

He’s one to watch…

Ndiaye would be a statement signing from the Red Devils, a player who is certainly good enough to earn a starting place at Old Trafford. Whether Everton are open to a sale, however, is an entirely different matter.
