Nottingham Forest have reportedly seen an enquiry for defender Lewis Dunk knocked back by Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Reds have been linked with Dunk in the past. He was on the club’s radar last summer when a busy window saw 13 signings made.
According to Sky Sports, Forest have reignited their interest in the centre-back this month. However, it seems their chances of luring him to the City Ground prior to the February 2 deadline are limited.
The Reds are said to have asked about Dunk’s availability as they look to strengthen Sean Dyche’s squad. But the Seagulls have reportedly made clear they have “no interest” in selling the 34-year-old.

Dunk recently signed a new contract to keep him at the Amex Stadium until 2027. He remains a key player for Brighton under boss Fabian Hurzeler.
Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo have established themselves as Forest’s first-choice centre-back pairing. The duo were back to their best in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Brentford as they helped Dyche’s side register a second successive Premier League clean-sheet.
The Reds also have Morato and Willy Boly, along with youngsters Zach Abbott and Jair Cunha on the books as central defensive options. However, Jair has barely featured since signing in the summer and Boly could move on before the window closes ahead of his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Additionally, Forest are aware Murillo has a long list of admirers – both in the UK and abroad. Forest are unlikely to entertain any bids for the Brazilian midway through the campaign but it could be a different story come the summer.

So far, the only new arrival Trentside this month is forward Lorenzo Lucca. The Italian put pen to paper on Friday on loan from Napoli.
The Reds have until February 2 to complete any further deals. Incomings and outgoings are expected in the final days of the window.
Midfielder Douglas Luiz’s loan from Juventus is set to be cut short, with a switch to former club Aston Villa in the pipeline. Fellow loanee Oleksandr Zinchenko is also due to see his Reds stint from Arsenal ended early, with a move to Ajax on the cards.
Despite bringing in Lucca, Forest are eyeing up adding another striker. They have made a £35 million bid for Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta.
