Leandro Paredes – Arsenal Transfer Target – Skills, Tackles & Passes

Arsenal news: Mikel Arteta could go back into the market for Leandro Paredes after the Gunners had an interest in the midfielder in the summer.

Three bids on deadline day were rejected by Villa with Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Arsenal were also interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes.

However, the Argentine midfielder opted to join Juventus on-loan with an option to buy, but his time in Italy appears to be nearing an end after making just three starting appearances under Massimiliano Allegri.

Nicolo Fagioli and Fabio Miretti, who have both come through the Italian clubs academy, are seemingly above Paredes in the pecking order and with PSG unlikely to offer him a consistent place in their starting XI, the Gunners could strike a bargain deal with the French club.

Arsenal could certainly spring into action and reignite their interest in Paredes, who has a contract with the French club until the summer of 2024, with PSG possibly seeking to cash in on the midfielder if he does return from Juventus.

Despite his lack of domestic action, Paredesis at the 2022 World Cup with Argentina and played 59 minutes in their shock World Cup opening game defeat to Saudi Arabia. His performances at the World Cup could prove pivotal if PSG want to let him go as any good displays would see his potential price tag likely increase.

While Arsenal may look to go on a World Cup scouting mission of their own if Paredes shows the midfield capabilities Mikel Arteta is looking for with a possible bargain deal available in January.
