According to Fabrizio, he is going to be "part of the team" for tomorrow's visit to St. James Park.

What do we think of this? Surely no way he starts, right? Or is Unai giving him a chance at last due to our thinning squad?

    ???????

Utterly bizarre… I can’t imagine he starts OR plays

EDIT: unless the 10 game clause got removed…????

  2. Is there a chance we use him sparingly and keep him under the # of games in the contract?

  3. Either a) someone else is injured or b) which I’ve suspected might happen the longer it goes on for…Liverpool refusing to take him back, McGinn may well be out for a while, we have a week left of the window and we need numbers. Wonder if they’re just going to roll the dice and integrate him back into the team.

He can still help in the next 2 weeks / 4 games! Then once the magic number 10 is reached we’ll have to buy him. But there’s still a few games spare he could play a part in. Given our midfield decimation.

  5. If it means hemmings isnt in the squad then id just left him at home. If it means then theres only one keeper on the bench then its fine

Come in, score a hat trick and get a team in for him this window. Simple. I also plan on winning the lottery this weekend.

  7. hopefully liverpool just removed the 10 game clause, best for him them and us. Its unfortunate, but this would be best for everyone surely? Im sure we had the best of intentions but when buendia came good and we could spend 35m else where… we jsut had to. I feel bad for him but i cant blame anyone. Emery hasnt said he doesnt want or like the player.

What’s confusing? If he has 10 games to close the contract and he’s only played 5 we can play him 4 more times. Lol

  9. Imagine Unai is playing some crazy 4D chess and has secretly been integrating him behind the scenes ready for the second half push…lulling the entire football league and community into a false sense of security…

    Ok, no more beer tonight😂😅

    UTV for tomorrow 💜💙

  10. Imagine he plays and scores a winner or something and then just goes back into darkness never to play for us again.

  11. Maybe Charlottle FC need to see what’s he’s actually like in a game and this may be a way to use him in our decimated midfield at the same time as supporting getting him to a better place. Get him to 9 games and then he’s either on his way or permanently out of the squad?

  12. I find his involvement a bit crazy unless the clause has been removed. He’s played 4 games for us and hasn’t played since the start of the season, he’s going to need at least 3/4 games to get back into match sharpness and by that time we’ve hit the 10 games and need to buy him

Can he just go back to Liverpool? I’m bored of this guy getting so many column inches

He’s not going to be part of Villas future

    EDIT

maybe we’re going to drop him back on the way

  14. Interesting. A few possible scenarios

    1) We’ve renegotiated the terms of the deal and it isn’t public yet. Seems more likely after McGinn injury

    2) We’ve hit the point where we have too many injuries and our needs are so desperate that Emery thinks 1 of his 4 possible remaining appearances is worth using up.

    3) Unai wants to make a point to Olabe and board that his options are so thin he needs to put a player on the bench he won’t even consider playing.

    4) We’ve hit the point of the window where we have other priorities for promising youth players – PL2 or Youth Cup minutes in front of scouts, or keeping them fit and available prior to a loan move. So Unai prefers to pick Elliott temporarily in their place.

    5) He’s training well and Unai has changed his mind.

    6) This story is a load of bollocks.

    7) My personal favourite – Unai has a specific plan for him to ruin Newcastle, after which we’ll never see him in a Villa shirt again.

  15. Feel bad for the lad. This loan has damaged his career. Not a great look for Villa either – I’d say you’d think twice about coming on loan at this point.

  16. If we’ve renegotiated the deal this could be a great thing for everyone involved. I always liked Elliot, really hope he can perform for us (if he gets to play again!)
