Seems a fairly consistent theme of our playstyle (and perhaps lack of ability to rotate due to PSR despite CL football every other season).

Not a shock though we always are. And I remember two seasons back that this has also been a trend when Howe has managed teams that games lost due to injury has tracked consistently. And is probably part down to bad luck and part down to intense training.

Osula, Burn, Willock, Schar, Botman, Pope, Wissa… this shouldn’t be a surprise.

Considering Arsenal are 3rd, does this really mean anything?
That said, sounds like the guy Mitchell brought in from Monaco has been doing a cracking job /s

Obviously I’m a Newcastle fan but this does feel disingenuous. If they’re counting long term absences of the likes of Lascelles, Osula and Krafth as “starting players” towards the minutes lost because they don’t start or play 95% of the games anyway…
Ben Davies is the only spurs player I’d say isn’t a major loss. They currently have bergvall, Maddison, kudus, Richarlison and Pulinha out for a significant period of time.
Apples to Oranges.
We already have a paper thin squad so losing one striker puts us in serious trouble and we only really ever start tonali, bruno and big joe with even miley not getting a string of games…
The defensive situation is obviously a real issue right now but what do we expect when players are forced to play continuously because we have no cover. Tino covering hall so the backup LB (burn) can play CB…
They have no time for rotation or breaks playing 3 games a week. Instead we have Ramsey, Willock, Miley sat doing nothing on the bench or out of position… Sell willock and get LB and we don’t lose tino to an injury because he’s forced to play LB
Starting to ramble on now but when we have 3 midfielders on the bench and struggling elsewhere on the pitch we can’t be bitcing and moaning about losing players to injury because they’re forced to play 200+mins a week because of no cover.

Was probably inevitable after we had to spend most of the summer (both in terms of budget and time) trying to replace He Who Shall Not Be Trained which left weak spots in terms of squad depth
Then you start the season with a couple of ridiculously unlucky injuries and the whole thing spirals because the depth isn’t there.

Find this fascinating cuz i dont even think out injuries have been that bad- the worst thing about ours is most of the injuries have been concentrated to defenders (which i think is worse than having 1 player injured per position)
Also probably it is using lascelles and Krafth in there aswell who i dont think have much impact to our team
