Depends what expectations you have for them. Despite the result, I’d be very surprised if they don’t finish in the top 4 this season. But I think it’s pretty clear that they have difficult fixtures left and won’t actually be able to win the title.

Malen being sold was super weird

Wow. One defeat and what, their season is over?? FFS.

Its gonna be a tough end, the injuries are brutal.. Our bench is almost fully depleted to academy players. Unless we have some major Jan signings like Rashford and Asensio last year, we’re done. Even top 4 would be a miracle.

Unfortunately this is just the time of season that the teams with less depth tend to fall off. The fixtures pile up over the Christmas period and players start picking up injuries as they have to play the majority of games. We’ve seen Onana, Kamara & McGinn get injuries in the last few weeks for Villa, that’s most of their midfield, any side would feel the impact of that.

Like…I’m not even a Villa fan but this headline really pisses me off.
Unbelievable run, had a couple of iffy results out of three and all they can say is “is this one defeat a turning point”?
When do they ever ask that about the big 6 after one defeat?
Were they asking it yesterday after Man City lost?
Were they asking if drawing at Forest was a turning point in Arsenal’s season? No, the headline was “Arsenal should have had a penalty for a ball brushing the hairs in an arm away from goal”.
I call bullshit on these Sky6 centric headlines

Villa have far exceeded expectations especially after the start they had. Did anyone seriously expect them to just keep winning week in week out. They were always going to drop points. Hard to keep playing at such a high level every week when you have so many games. They should still comfortably finish in champions league spots. And unai loves the Europa league so I could see him targeting that

Maybe, might not be. Could be though, but not sure.
What a stupid headline…

Not really.
They rode their luck for longer than people expected, and now they’re back to the standard mid table form.

The midfield are shot. Basically almost all out injured. The disjointed passing today showed.
We are playing the same teams we played in the fist 5 games of the season (Newcastle and Brentford next) and not getting a goal against them again.
I still think we will hit 70+ points. But a title charge. No

Their luck was always going to run out if you actually watch how the games have gone. They’ve been very lucky to get as many points as they have.

How can it be a turning point when they got 0
