Neville is a city fan. I know this for a fact.
Fair play to gary for being honest, honestly dont know how that goal was allowed
United are on the charge đ
Has to be offsideâŠheâs 6 inches away from the ball after heâs chased it for 20 yards, has to be interfering, regardless of wether he touches it!
Yeah itâs those ones if it goes for your team your happy but if it goes against you your not happy but nonetheless as a Man U fan some of these laws need to be looked at by ex pros coz who actually makes these rules
The through ball beat the defense. City defenders were at fault for the goal because they weren't covering the attack. Seems plain to me but I support united đ
akanji doesnât reach the ball anyway. however, instead of moving across to challenge bruno, walker moves towards the goal assuming rashford would have the ball/shoot. impossible, even as a utd fan, to say there was no interference. im not that biased lol
imo he blocks the defender from getting to the ball and assisting his team mate to score a goal so he is involved in a goal when he was in an offside position so its offside
I was in disbelief that the goal stood live and I'm still none the wiser. Experts much more knowledgeable than I say it's fair. I dunno. I just know we won and I'm happy.
100% off, joke tbh donât even support City
Well not like City haven't had dodgy decisions go their way, Liverpool still get them…
Pep has some cheek complaining about refs, his 2 champions league wins in 2009 involved a scandalous semi final vs Chelsea which was blatant corruption. 2011 was similar.
There's no way that goal should stand, of course he's interfering with play. He's right near the ball and the defenders are watching him, if he's not there they focus solely on Fernandes. I mean the City defence is at fault too, they didn't help themselves. I'm not too bothered anyway, I'd rather Arsenal win the league so the more points taken off City the better coz they have more of a chance of stopping Arsenal, a draw would have been good though.
Have to admit this decision will change the game.
Unpopular opinion-
Can we not just respect the decision of the referee? At worst itâs a bad decision, at best itâs a grey area. Either way the lack of respect for referees decisions from fans kind of ruins a lot of the enjoyment for me.
I don't claim to fully understand the rules, but even as a United fan it looked like an obvious offside. I'll take a little luck though. We fought hard and you can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket
He does not have to touch the ball to be offside, go learn the rules yourself before claiming other people donât know them.
âA player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:
interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or
interfering with an opponent by:
preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponentâs line of vision or
challenging an opponent for the ball or
clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ballâ
Even as a United fan l have to say it was offside, but I'll take it
As a United fan I was shocked to see it stand.
City had 71% possession over 90mins and only managed 1 shot on target.
To me it was offside he clearly was affecting the play but tbh I donât mind, cityâs domination of the league is so boring
What we actually witnessed was blatant match fixing to make the league more âentertainingâ. City should have also had a penalty but why referee the game correctly when you have a video assistant.
City don't play to the whistle, if any attempt was made it 100% would be offside
The issue for me is that the defender doesn't even try to challenge for the ball. If Akanji had played to the whistle and been trying to tackle Fernandes and Rashford got in the way then yes he would have been offside. As it was, he just assumed that it would be called and was punished accordingly.
Officialy you can stay on offside position, chase the ball and leave it in last seconds for someone else and goal need to stand, same with free kick just stay offside and dont touch the ball. We can have 11:10 ,games every game. Fantastic !!!!
So let me get this straight… if Iâm standing in front of a keeper and donât touch the ball itâs interfering with play if Iâm in a offside position .
But if I chase the ball for 20 yards, am a studs length away and purposely commit defenders from an offside position itâs not interfering?
Makes sense.
I didn't celebrate when it went in as first thought.
But more surprised that it didn't go to VAR.
Hes offside, the offside rule just needs to be put back to the old school rule if your offside…your just offside
Clear as day offside. He was frikin chasing the ball and even went to touch the ball at one point!
