Wasted two years and in my view, with the same outcome and result. Nearly but not quite. Should give someone fresh the two years to work on this squad and go into the euros with a new man at the helm. Gareth is just the safe option that will once again get us to a quarters or semi's. If that's enough for the English f.a fair enough.
Southgate’s in game substitutions tell you everything you need to know his managerial ability. Really really bad. This world cup and the last one.
2018 – Croatia chasing the game – left in form Vardy on the bench. Didn’t have the balls to take off Kane who you wouldn’t know was on the pitch.
2022 – Need a goal vs France. Brings on Sterling whos been terrible. Gives bang in form and high on confidence Rashford 2 mins at the end.
2022 -Doesn’t give Englands most creative centre midfielder (Maddison) a single minute in the tournament.
Overcomplicating the game. England should be so much better. Sometimes coaches at the highest level aren’t actually that good
Southgate's resume:- 1) Got Middlesbrough relegated, despite Gibson ploughing 10's of millions into the team. Middlesbrough have never truly recovered to this day.
2) Finished bottom of Euro 2015 group as England U21 manager, yet somehow got the full England job.
3) Got knocked out of Russia 2018 by (the first real challenge) Croatia, a tiny nation with only a 3 million population.
4) Got beat in Euro 2020 by a mediocre Italian team that would then fail to qualify for the next world cup.
5) beat Iran, Wales, a draw with America, and knocked out by a French team that was more than beatable.
And that's it. He's the luckiest manager alive.
We had the best draws in 2018 and 2020 in a lifetime, with a decent manager, we could of won those tournaments. We had the players.
But Southgate in holding a group of talented players back.
FA love to beat San Marino and Gibraltar, and that is all what counts.
Martin Keown is desperate to defend his good mate Gareth.
He's failed, so he must be the right man for the job. The FA are consistent in backing losers.
Southgate is a success in is own head, backed by prattish comments from talksports finest.
He should jump.

To be honest, I couldn’t care less, whatever happens it won’t help my cost of living situation.
I think give Southgate an extension of say 10 years to give him confidence and the chance for mediocrity for the rest of my life 👍 played 3 tournament and lost all of them 🙄🙄

EVERY time i see Southgate come on TV, the screen goes Black and White and Southgate is ALWAYS Grey. He is INCREDIBLY BORING and TEDIOUS AS A HUMAN and THIS IS REFLECTED IN HIS POOR MANAGEMENT OF BOTH OF THE 2 TEAMS HE HAS MANAGED.
England can go toe to toe with the best off them and thats not in doubt!! Is he for real out of the 20 top teams Southgate has played hes won 4 of them 🤔 haha good luck England!!
How do you overcome the obstacle of a dodgy ref. That Kane pen been converted in 1st half plus Saka foul being hacked off the ball would have possibly made it the reverse 2-1 England. We have to physically put the ball in the net from open play.
If I was English I’d be so embarrassed , they have top to world class players in every position but never win anything ,they talk getting to a finale ye you got beat by the country that couldn’t even qualify for the World Cup , England is also notorious for getting easy draws so that’s why he’s gone to quarters etc , when has he ever beat any big team when it mattered
The FA have got history regarding ridiculous contracts, just investigate what happened with Sven. Very easy when you are dishing out other people’s money.
Simon…its time the new young players come thru .n play .as a new football team .. England new ..when the younger players mess up .then use the older players .it's time to have new England.
Germany are working on younger .new players .getting them in sync. I suggest Gareth does the same with England.
