Given the amount of conversation on this sub speculating on the reasons for the ban, it's important to issue the clarification as the Report into it has just concluded:
It was the result of Copilot (yes the police chief was too lazy to Google, or to google ChatGPT) and cherry picking evidence.

[Maccabi v Hapoel called off by police after ‘violent riots’ – BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cgr4n07509wo)
Did Tel Aviv police chief also too lazy to google ?
This is unbelievably incompetent, not least because there demonstrably were and are very good reasons to consider excluding Maccabi fans from travelling to the game, and the validity of those is now going to be completely lost because they decided to use a hallucination engine to invent reasons instead.
Seems news to people that the police are morons.
However, there were plenty of good reasons to not allow those hooligan scumbags to attend the match. All of Murdoch’s outlets have been pushing this story almost every day nonstop. If only they’d spend a fraction of the time on issues that actually matter.
Why is this even a conversation. If they were from any other country we wouldn’t still be hearing about this
Even if the issues would have been caused by locals rather than their fans, surely that’s still a valid reason for the police to intervene
I think it’s pretty accurate to say the ban was justified, if not before, then after the fact with what happened at their next game
This is so annoying as they had plenty of real reasons to ban them.
Also insane pressure from Israeli government to keep this going, when Legia fans were banned didn’t see a months long inquiry
You only had to walk around the villa park area to see the proliferation of pro Palestine flags and attitude to understand that a group of mad Israelis in the area would inevitably end up with life threatening incidents….
Simples
All this so talked investigation is just trying to pretend the government is pro Israeli….
Nearly vomited watching the BBC’s take on this. Plenty of bias as expected
