Aston Villa are set to make their second developmental signing of the transfer window.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano who claims Villa have agreed a deal for 16-year-old Metz youngster Brian Madjo.

He says they have struck a €12million deal for the ‘gem’ and describes the transfer as ‘orchestrated behind the scenes’.

Romano adds a five year contract has been agreed and that a medical has been booking meaning the teenager is set to follow Brazilian starlet Alysson to the club.

He is son of former player Guy Madjo who had a career in the lower leagues and non-league.

The youngster, who celebrates his 17th birthday next week, was born in Enfield but has grown up in Luxembourg and signed for the Metz academy in 2023. He signed his first professional contract in the summer.

Since then he has made his Ligue 1 debut, five appearances in total and has also played for the England Under-17s. He has been likened to former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.
