Looking at a few of the players either coming in or rumoured to be close and which players most resemble their recent production based on available data:
- Charlie Cresswell is playing like a somewhat smaller Mav regen. Must be the haircut.
- Last season's Taty (15 non-penalty xG+xA) đ€ last season's Raul JimĂ©nez (13 npxG+xAG)
- Traoré hasn't played enough this season to qualify but last year he produced nearly identically to one of the signings of this summer (9 goal involvements)
- Pablo's touches in the box number is a little weird but he lines up reasonably well with Joao Pedro.
- For fun, he's Taty this year compared to Jarrod Bowen of last year when the latter was playing "more" as a "striker"
"You don't force comps" is one of the first rules they teach you when evaluating prospects in other sports so, take this with as many grains of salt as you need.
It's just something to consider when imagining how all these pieces might fit together, especially in Nuno's system!
