(just fooling around, he did have a huge impact on the play)

Quality player of course but is it just me or he doesn’t look at fit and slim as he used to

It was fairly clear how reliant they are on Rodri. Marking him out of the game sounds like a plan.

I think that Newcastle game City have in a few games time will tell us a lot.
Rodri should be up to speed by then, and if I’m Eddie Howe, I’m telling Joelinton and Bruno to press and go after him to see if he’s still got the physical capacity for that kind of midfield bumfight.
If he goes well in that game, it will be a nailbiter of a title race down to the wire as he fixes most of City’s current weaknesses. If not, there’s probably just a bit of mental scar tissue that will take a pre-season to work through.

He still doesn’t look remotely the player he was pre injury. He seems so (relatively) cautious and slow which is totally understandable.
And regardless of who a player plays for, it’s never nice to see.

The way City play with a single pivot, I don’t think Rodri will return to his Ballon D’or levels. He’s been out for a year and a half (playing consistently), an ACL at that age when you have to cover a lot of ground isn’t great and Nico G will be more important for City than Rodri.
