Thomas Müller: Florian Wirtz took an international step with his move to Liverpool. At Bayern Munich, he would certainly have found it easier to adapt to the football scene, because he would have stayed in the same league…

Interviewer: But he's not going through a good period with Liverpool right now (0 goals and 3 assists in 21 competitive games for Liverpool)?

Müller: That's true. But that doesn't compare at all to the volume of media attention a player faces when things aren't going well for him at Bayern Munich. Here, you're under pressure every day. As a foreign player, you don't get talked about to the same extent.

quite the opposite… in the uk, foreign players get more stick than english players. the english media are usually biased

Mans making shit up lol nobody would care about that farmers league and besides he would be getting lots of goals and assists there anyways

  3. I am not, in fact, convinced that being an expensive signing for a world-famous Premier League club does actually result in less scrutiny than being at Bayern.

  4. Retired players are a different breed. The moment they don’t have a leash on their mouth due to contract clauses, they can’t seem to stop talking bullshit.

Even players we once thought were a little smart or at least average, show they are all truly stupid.

  5. I mean, he’s not entirely wrong. The level of scrutiny at Bayern far, far outstrips anything you ever get at any English club. I don’t know about foreigners being “not talked about” (ask Arne Slot or Viktor Gyokeres about that), but there are a lot of clubs that craw attention in England. In Germany, there’s one. If you go there and don’t succeed — especially as a German player who was bought off a smaller club — it is explosive.

Also, like everybody involved with Bayern, he’s probably butt hurt that they missed out on both their top German targets this summer.

  6. This is just so wrong on so many levels, and I cannot believe Thomas Müller would say something so ignorant.

Naaaah they spoke about Pogba every single day the day he stepped into the league. If they like you they’ll spare you some grace

  8. Well, Thomas, that’s because he doesn’t play for Manchester United. He instead plays for a media darlings Liverpool.

I get that he’s upset that Bayern missed out on Wirtz, but he’ll be at Bayern within 3 years to help them walk their 50th title in a row or whatever it is
