Alternative viewpoint – Could RM be saying nothing, so it is interpreted & publicised by the journo’s that they are no longer interested in Ibou. Only to then after the 1st Jan, announce they have signed him on a pre-contact agreement for the Summer of ‘26. This cooling would avoid Liverpool thinking, right well he’s off, so let’s try to sell him in this window to say PSG or BM for a nominal price, that we can then use to offset the Guehi signing??? Just a thought.

I think part of the reason why everyone was ok with Alonso leaving was because they knew how badly he had been treated by Rafa. For ons thing, there was how Rafa tried to
Micromanage his play. I remember there was one game where Rafa was doing all sorts of frantic hand signals telling Xabi what to do and Xabi ignored him and set up a goal. Then there was Rafa making it so clear that he wanted to replace Xabi with Gareth Barry before his final season began. No LFC fan could understand that desired replacement. Xabi responded by having his best LFC season ever and helping us get second.

This problem is the clubs making. Players will look for the best deal. Konate's loss of form has an up side, he may decide to remain if RM pull out.

In an ideal world i want:
1. Centre half in january
2. Konate led up the garden path about a new deal until february.
3. Konate sits out remainder of season while new signing plays every game.
4. Konate told to find a new club and gets no world cup games due to lack of fitness.
its really looking the same as the whole trent situation.. not a word from the player regarding a contract, previous reports that offers from LFC were made, etc… wont be surprised if he too has been learning spanish for a few years – not sure if any spanish team would want him though🤷🏽♂️
