Henrik Rydström, a Swedish manager known for his innovative, 'relationist' tactical philosophy, previously won the Swedish championship twice with Malmö FF. He is considered an intriguing option as Ajax looks for a new manager.

Rydström looks like someone Ajax could really use. What he's did at Malmö was super impressive – he came in and immediately won the league and the cup in his first season. And it's not just the trophies. The way he sets up his teams is really interesting. He gives his players a lot of freedom, but at the same time they press like crazy and stay really organized.

What makes him stand out in my opinion is how easily he switches up tactics. One week they're in a 3-4-3, then he'll change to a 4-3-1-2 and the team still looks fluid and solid defensively. Making the mangers he's going against second guess themselves. That kind of flexibility and creativity is exactly the kind of thing Ajax usually looks for in a coach. So yeah – if he ends up here, I'd be happy, it wouldn't be surprising at all.

But tell me, do the rest of Ajax fans want him? Let me hear your points on this.

Interesting, I dropped his name in a post I made when we were looking for a replacement for Farioli a couple of months ago.

The fact he got fired at Malmö doesn’t fill me with too much hope, but I don’t know the details. He does sound exciting, so I’m open to the idea

  3. Interessante trainer, maar zijn filosofie staat volgens mij wel haaks op die van Ajax (Relationisme vs positiespel)

This manager is a high risk high reward, but if it works out, we can be looking at a trophy in the next couple of years.
