The closure, between Whincroft Close and Amberwood, is required to “comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users”.
The closure will come into force from 9.30am and remain until 2.30pm.
South Coast Traffic Management will be working on the road.
A signed diversion route will be in place via Tricketts Cross Roundabout, the A348 Ringwood Road, Turbary Roundabout, the A348 Ringwood Road, the B3072 Victoria Road and Wimborne Road East.
The council has warned that anyone who uses or permits the use of a vehicle to use this section of road during the closure will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,000.
