      I'm portutguese and I'm fuming. I'm seriously considering no longer watching the NT. This football federation are a bunch of jokers. I was looking forward to a foreigner, to shake things up…but look at the man's track record ffs.

      While playing in the Saudi league Ronaldo should not even get a call for the national team but we all know the media his toxic fans will put a lot of pressure on Martinez, who I don't think deserves the job , but at the end the toxicity will continue and Portugal that has a golden generation and could really compete for the next Euros , they will fell short again because of decisions like this , I really hope that they reached out to Zidane & Tuchel before Martinez otherwise their federation is abysmal .

      Roberto Martinez is the biggest fraud in management. He deserves to manage only lower league teams or some random Africa or Middle Eastern country, he's that awful.

      ESPN talks a lot about CR7 but never gives him the credit he deserves . For example in 2022 he was given Criminal D'Or 2022 for having sexual assault cases in 4 different countries and a child assault case which he has already been charged by FA with international ban for club football. Also season before that he was busy stat padding 24 goals against Norwich City and Brentford and scored 0 goals 0 assists against Man City or Liverpool so he was given Garbage D'Or 2022 . After sitting from club bench to countrys team bench in world cup he was given Bench D'Or 2022 and Interview D'Or after multiple false accusations against multiple teammates + coaches + former teammates and coaches and club with countrymen. ESPN should give him the credit he deserves for all of these awards.

      Zidane, Mourinho and Rene Arnaurd. They could have chosen anyone but they chose Roberto Martinez. Very disappointed in Portugal FA.

      Now get ready to get out in Grp stages in the garb of "beautiful football". He doesn't have any structure or tactics to neutralise opponent attack. Pepe will pull his hairs out (if there is any).

      Santos at least won a euro cup, what has Martinez won?. I think Martinez was appointed so that portugal don't want to get qualified for any cups anymore.

      Seems like some sort of shady back-room deal almost. Why would you waste such a talented squad on a manager who simply isn’t good enough? They executives know they can bully Martinez? Too much drama with better managers? Just dumb

      I like the move, he wasn’t that bad for Belgium he got 3rd place in 2018. Not his fault lukaku and hazard are in bad form.
