It was a dive but such is modern football that in order the ref to take an incident seriously the player must roll on the floor for 10 minutes. 100% a red card. What was he doing? Lost his team a place in the next stages of the cup. Idiot.

This clip is edited to look like a dive but that dude clearly, intentionally headbutted Vertongen. Ref had no choice. A better clip should be put up than this crappy piece.
Clearly this is a wrong decision by the ref. Vertonghen moves into the Dnipro player, look at the movement of his upper body. He leans forward to ram into the Dnipro player, who moves his head slighty. Every bit of force comes from Vertonghen. He created the situation, and playacted to get a card out of it. Completely disgraceful. Ban him.
And, even if this was a situation where there was a deliberate headbutt, Vertonghen should still be banned, for overacting on minimal contact. Time to do something about these fucking cheaters, in my team, in your team, I don´t give a fuck, get the playacting of the field.

Obviously there wasn't enough contact to go down, but a headbutt is a headbutt and if he didn't fall over, the ref wouldn't have noticed it and the Dnipro player would still be on the pitch. They were having arguments all the way through that game, the Dnipro player is just an idiot and lost his team the game.

Yet we were lucky that Soldado was not red-carded in the first half. But a lot of the Dnipro players were play-acting before the head-butt and in the previous match. So all ended fair and square and the better team is through. Well done Ade !
Yes he moves his head towards him, but how the hell can that be classed as a headbutt, it was barely nodding. no excuses for diving like that, if he properly headbutted him the player would have got what he deserved through video evidence.
that's not a head butt. it's two bodies colliding with eachother. it was all pre meditated by vertonghen; he's walked into the guy without trying to stop, and the Dnipro has made some attempt to shove him back the other way so he's not pushed over. It's way too inconclusive to call it a head butt.

At 0:03 of the video you an see the Dnipro player CLEARLY move his head toward the Spurs player. No question a red card to any neutral who viewed it!
