Zinedine Zidane was offered a coaching job for the USMNT, Portugal and Brazil. To which declined all the offers.

Who should the USMNT target next? Who should replace Gregg Berhalter?

  1. My pick is Herve Renard. Constantly overperforms with lesser talent. The man pisses energy and shits passion. And he's a stupid sexy Frenchman. Win win all around if we go that route. If it HAS to be MLS or USL, I want Tab Ramos since he knows the pool and has coached these guys before, but after his recent comments, I don't think USSF wants him.

  2. I saw a report that said the reason why Mourinho didn't get the Portugal job is because he wanted to continue managing Roma while coaching Portugal. I think if USA allowed him to continue at Roma he would consider us but the question is would Mourinho be able to handle both jobs?

  3. When you are going to get paid 15 million or more, yo go to the best job you can get, which is not USA unfortunately.

  4. Rule number one is don’t trust USSF and reports. They sometimes are not saying the truth. Do you really think Gragg and USSF want keep him? Let just see what happens.

  5. Kurtin really doesn’t scare me too much. He is pragmatic and a great motivator. Keeping it simple is what we need. Hopefully he will the right talent in the right places.

  6. My criteria for the next coach is that he has wins against South American (not Central) teams and European teams as a national team mgr, or he has won a championship on one of those two continents as a club mgr.

  7. Seems like the federation will ask managers that they know will never take the job so that when they hire a mediocre to terrible manager or re-sign berhalter, they can say it was their only option because their first options rejected them

  8. Who is behind this MLS conspiracy to control the national team? Why would anyone want that? Who would put people in charge if the national team who are ot committed to improving the team?

  9. Knowing our federation they are going to go out and try to get managers that are never going to say yes then hire GGG "because they couldn't find anyone else and they tried"

  10. This is great journalism and what non mainstreamers should be doing. I'm hoping more of this is applied to the Reyna Berhalter situation. The prevailing narrative was constructed by US Soccer/Berhalter/and their team of high paid consultants. The Reynas really just acted out emotionally so it was turned on them. Nobody seemed to notice that the story didn't need to come out at all it was in fact carefully released by US Soccer and Berhalter himself in a very coordinated manner and it worked to a T. Everyone mainstream and on Youtube bought it hook line and sinker and the narrative is and will remain "This is blackmail by a couple of entitled helicopter parents".
