If you're starting to talk about them *now*, you havent paid attention to how poor they've been all season.
What rubbish. They have 5 or 6 new faces. It will take time for the animals to find their place in the pack. Once they do watch out.
They're not missing Trent they're missing teamwork and a cohesive unit. You also underestimate the need for Chelsea to win and their performance showed that. The biggest problem with Liverpool's defense is Konate Jamie!

Salah is massively missing Trent. He would on the counter clear the ball with pin point passes into space that Mo could run onto.

The problem is the modern football fan thinks their team should win every match 3 nil with 100 % pass accuracy because they're delusional. Some villa fans were talking about emerys job after the start we had and after 3 wins everything is gravy again. We may not win the premiership this season, but the players we have signed are there for the future project. I am a Liverpool fan – and I'll say this – Arne Slot is not a top coach… and I will back it up with stats…
Slot inherited Jurgens squad that was playing free flowing football and the first six months Slots got lucky because the team still played the Jürgen style of football. The more Slot has coached the team the worse they've got…and the Jürgen effect has now gone and Liverpool are a boring mid table team.
As of today's game with Chelsea – Slot has been in charge of 66 games in all competitions.
If we split these into two halves ie first 33 games (which had a risidual Jürgen effect) and the last 33 ( which is now a Slot effect) the difference is stark:
First 33 games : 26 Wins / 5 Draws and 2 losses GF = 99 GA = 36
GD = +63
Last 33 games: 19 wins, 4 draws, 10 losses GF 77 GA 53 GD = +24
Bear in mind the first seven games they won this season each and every win was fairly lucky.
Slot has coached the Jürgen effect out and they are now a very ordinary boring team. As per the stats above they score way less goals and conceded way more…they stumbled to the finish last season and are looking terrible this season!!!
Slot is not good enough in my opinion and he is taking the team backwards !!! and his decision making is now increasingly open to scrutiny!!!
