After the Kirkland challenge a lot of pundits wrote him off after he had a mediocre next season. The year after he shut them up. Recovering from such a bad injury so quickly says a lot about this monster of a man, player and all round great footballer. I guarantee Liverpool would not have won 2 league titles without him. He has to go down in history as one of Liverpool's best players of all time.
