      Why would Gregg come out with this comment if it wasn’t meaning he is coming back. If slanders his name and he could have stepped away without his name tarnished for his next move.

      USSF said that wanted him to stay. Why would they flip now? I smell BS. Also ggg couldn’t pay the $8 verification fee. I wonder if it is pending verification. I think this is USSF getting ready to fire Gregg

      I think this is a PR firm reverse hit piece. Think about this? It’s a ridiculous thing for anyone to do and think about the timing ?! Also the Twitter account 😂. I don’t know, I suppose it’s all possible this happening NOW but come on man. Wtf is this???

      There are several ways to read the sentence "Through this process…". Was the inappropriate behavior conducted by Berhalter and brought out by outside members. Or, was the behavior conducted by outside members?

      Gregg must go Reyna gate and not picking tillman to be in the team was it for me. Jordan morris and jesus f was awful when you are trying to score a goal and they look like they are not at the level of the other players..

      There is a Discrepancy in the "Timeline" … Ggg says he was "Outted" during the WC… USSF says they were made aware of "Situation" on Dec.11th and immediately hired Law Firm .. USA was Out of World Cup on Dec.3rd.??? Which is It !?!?!?

      USSF says they heard about Allegation on Dec.11th … Same Day Ggg "HOW" Conference Transcript "Leaked"… Probably the Reyna's were "Fine" until That came out about Gio, about to be "Sent Home".

      I think the investigation needs to continue even after they let go of Greg. Greg should be let go but this story should not affect that decision. Whoever blackmailed him needs to be brought to justice. If I were Greg, I'd just be chill taking a 2nd division Euro team or an MLS expansion side. If Greg's wife forgave him and he did not do it again, then it is absolutely no one else's business.

      This happened when he was 17 or 18 years old people….. We don't even know if he was drunk or not, much less if she was as well, nor the entire context of the situation. I am not excusing DV at all, but it is sad that this is even a story. He should not be renewed simply due to the USSF moving in a new direction. I do not think he is a great coach, but I ADMIT that he performed far better than I anticipated that he would. Far Better. I say that with alot of crow in my mouth right now.

      You're repeatedly assuming Berhalter's wife forgave him. Perhaps she did, perhaps she didn't. This is a statement written by a lawyer not by her or by him. Gregg has been dishonest about many things over the last 3 yeras. I don't think he gets the benefit of the doubt here. Not in my book. Already he seemed thin-skinned and stubborn with little emotional intelligence. Now this revelation simply makes Gregg seem like a worse overall person.

      Bottom line, he should have been fired for poor coaching and poor tactics.

      So dumb that he even has to give this statement. What happened is between him and her and not our business. Drunk teenagers make stupid decisions. People cannot be irredeemable pieces of shit to society because of a mistake that happened before their brains were even fully developed. People should be judged based on their performance at their job. For that reason, sure, let him go. Not for this…
      Tac, for what it's worth, I agree with you. I wouldn't forgive him either if it was my family member.

      Can we not pretend that this didn't come from the Reyna camp?

      Gio's mom and Gregg's wife were college roommates and have been cited as "best friends"
      Gregg and Claudio Reyna played in HS together

      It's HIGHLY likely that Gio's parents knew about this incident.

      And, let's look at Gregg's statement and the dates:
      1. The person contacted US soccer during the World Cup, according to Gregg, but didn't say what it was, just that it would hurt Gregg. Gee, who would have suddenly wanted to hurt Gregg during the WC but didn't want to before?
      2. US soccer, per the USSF statement, was specifically notified of Gregg assaulting his wife on Dec 11. Why does that date matter? It's the same day the articles came out that Gio was almost kicked off the team, and also the day that it was revealed Gregg specifically said to a group that a player was almost kicked off the team. It's also a few days after articles came out that said Gregg was negotiating a new deal with USSF.

      USSF specifically mentioned Dec 11 for a reason, it's the only specific aspect of an overall vague statement. It's so obvious that the Reynas are responsible for leaking this, especially considering their knowledge, motivation, and the timeline. To them, they likely blame Gregg for all of the negative articles about Gio's attitude (which was a character assassination), and this is them striking back.

      I also keep seeing black mail mentioned on this and black mail would imply that whoever leaked this were trying to get something from GGG this is just someone bringing up his past

      Is this some attempt to get sympathy or just an effort to get out in front of the story? Either would be an effort to give him 3 1/2 more years with a job.

      Have you seen the guy saying it’s not blackmail? LOL. The statement clearly says “threatened to expose something to leverage an end to my relationship with U.S. Soccer.”
