Jermaine Jones went on his Instagram Live to vent a bit about USMNT not qualifying for the World Cup in Russia 2018. As Jermaine Jones does, he doesn’t hold back. In fact, towards the end he started naming names, talking about Jordan Morris of the Seattle Sounders and how he didn’t want to sign for Werder Bremen of the Bundesliga. If you recall, just before he signed with Seattle Sounders Jurgen Klinnsman set up a training stint with Werder Bremen and Jordan Morris so impressed that they had made an offer. There was nothing said for a few days and then it came out that Jordan Morris wanted to sign with Seattle Sounders instead. Morris' reason for not trying to scale the heights of football greatness explains EXACTLY why USMNT–with one obvious exception–is filled with mediocres.
Just remember his team just got awarded the wooden spoon. Also totally out of line to name drop. Morris didn't want to pull a Freddy Adu. He wasn't going to play in Germany. MLS he'd be a sub. Obi left and he suddenly was the starter. He's developing fairly well. Goals might not be dropping for him, but those will come. Honestly think improving MLS is the answer, but the league is stalling out right now.
