  1. The ignorance in this comment section is astounding.
Ter Stegen is still going to get paid what he’s owed throughout out his absence, and the club aren’t trying to terminate his contract or somehow pay him any less. His salary space in the league registration can just be allocated to other players if he’s injured for long enough which is exactly the case. Otherwise Ter Stegen wouldn’t be reluctant to allow the league to view his official medical reports. He’s just angry he’s being replaced which, of course he is because the club can’t afford to have an injury prone 1st choice goalkeeper who’s been on the decline and is acting incredibly selfishly whilst being the captain of the club.

  2. Can't fathom how much of a pro-Madrid chirper this guy is -at least today he got himself to admit it. Hopefully the rumours are false and he doesn't have anything to do with Zealand, since this kind of opinions frankly would not sit well with Zealand's fanbase.

  3. Legally he is right. Laporta made a blunder when extending his contract. But he is an arrogant, selfish, and foolish person. He has killed his own career. Nothing is more embarrassing than the club. He knows that, but due to his bad personality, he is against the club that has made his name great. The next step is that the club will likely terminate his contract regardless of the financial consequences. It is La Porta's duty to correct the blunder he has made.

  4. I am a Barca fan but Ter Stegen earned my respect from this situation. Laporta and the board are treating the players very poorly in recent years and they try to blame the players like Ter Stegen, Araujo, Frenkie, Pique, Busquets and others to try and hide the fact that they are running this club terribly

  5. It's also worth noting that Ter Stegen had a bonus in his contract after playing a certain number of games every season and apparently was furious that Hansi Flick didn't play him in the last game of the season and Ter Stegen missed out on 3.5 million.

  6. Why should he get paid half pay while injured for the club that injured him? Why should barca do this scummy move just because they dont have their finances in a row?

  7. Barca want to say he'll be out for 4 or 5 months as this will allow them to write off some of his salary on salary cap.

He says he'll be back in 3 which is why he's refusing. Barca are trying to lie to make salary cap space.

  8. The guy I feel really bad for is inaki pena. Since Barcelona can't register Tek or Garcia and with MATS injured he's The logical answer as our starter even though the minute we get Garcia on the roster Pena will be back on the bench until the next transfer window

  9. For anyone confused – Barca's La Liga FSP equivalent is a mess, and they're under restrictions on the registered wage cap (players can be paid outside this cap, but they then can't be registered for the league). Despite buying Teg Stegen's replacement before selling him, they can't (currently) afford to register him. They were hoping to do with MTS' wages what they did last season when a player got a major injury (I think it was Andreas Christensen) and 80% of his registered wages got allocated to their new signings. For this to work, the injured player must have a recovery time of 4+ months. It's reported Ter Stegen's surgery should only take him 3 months to recover from. Barca want to send the medical paperwork in for the league to verify their belief that it'll take 4+ months. Ter Stegen has, as is his legal right, refused to allow his medical report to be sent. If I had to guess, Barca view this as him lying to keep them from using his "wages" (not what he's actually paid but the wage cap contribution) for his replacement, while Ter Stegen either feels that he'll be fine after 3 months and/or doesn't want to aid his rival getting ahead of him in the pecking order when he feels like he should still be #1.

  10. I don't get it. Ter Stegen gets 100% of his salary whether he gives up his paperwork or not. So, is he hiding a past injury or ailment?? Either way, this means Barcelona can't utilize the rules to benefit themselves, which I'm surprised Ter Stegen has issues with.

  11. Root cause here:
There are two causing chemistry on this. First, I would mention simple cause, ter stegen side.
    1. Ter stegen wants wc2026. But German national football has said to him that he has to play high-level football and has to prove, then he will be the goalkeeper for Germany otherwise someone else. That's why he wants to stay.

But situation 2 is like a deeply active volcano. Very intense fight. Here's what happened:

Ter got injured badly. Barca needs a strong goalkeeper. Scezney appointed. The transfer window was running, but no club was interested in an injured goalkeeper, and also, ter stegen unregistered in laliga playing squad. So he was on vacation type situation.

After four months, he came back. But Barca already signed garcia, and rashford. Barca needed enough money to register these two. Barca was planning to register with the money that has been reserved due to stegen's 4 months vacation. And, laliga has a rule that states,"If a player stays out for 4 months, club will liable only 10% salary according to the contract of the player." So Barca was planning to register new signings with that money.

But ter stegen posts on Instagram saying "he will be out for only 3 months." Even though he was out for 4 and half months. Barca said, "Why did you post this before we say something?"

Barca went to laliga and said, "Please don't approve that Instagram post from stegen." Laliga said,"ok. Posts on Instagram would never be an official. But provide us ter stegen's medical report signed by doctors and patient, so you could use money.

Barca asked medical staff for the report, and the medical staff said, "ok, take it. But bring the patient's signature first so we could give you the report."

But ter stegen denied to sign.

  12. It is amazing to what length Barca Fans go to rewrite truth to their favour. During Corona, Barca asked Ter Stegen to Delay part his salary to the last few years of his contract, because of this he is now on a very high salary that they dont want to pay. Barca now wants him gone because of this and is pressuring him by basicly saying: move club or lose your chance to play worlds next summer. Ter Stegen oviously cant find another club willing to pay his high salary that is like almost 2 salarys because of the corona delay salary. Barca is scum like allways.

  13. Nah, you're wrong. Barca are the bad guys period. Nothing good coming from their upper echelons. Member-owned club? My arse they are, just like Bayern it's top-guided and do NOT give a flying fook about any kind of member-groups.

  14. Vitesse is disappearing from professional football. On Friday afternoon, the preliminary relief judge in Utrecht rejected the Arnhem football club’s request in summary proceedings against the KNVB to have its professional license reinstated. As a result, the away match against Almere City that was scheduled for Saturday is off. It is still unclear whether, and in what form, Vitesse will continue to exist. The club was founded in 1892, making it one of the oldest professional clubs.

Vitesse loses professional license after court ruling, journalists chased away from Korenmarkt, scuffles in Arnhem

  15. So apparently Ter Stegen is refusing because Barca wants him to extend his time out in recovery by a month so they can claim this extended injury thing and register other players. I heard this from a Barca info instagram page so I’m not sure how legit it is

  16. It's EU legislation that employer can't share employees medical information to anybody without consent, so it's a bit weird that La Liga is requiring this kind of information. MATS is using his rights as an employee so there surely can't be any legal case against him. The main point of this story is that Barcelona's financial situation is still very bad as they are in trouble with the player registrations year after year.
