If other players play close to him so he has an easy pass after the tackle then it's great, but he's not gonna be the kinda player to win the ball and then carry it forward up the pitch. Should be ok in Frank's style as it's not a style that floods players forward. That all said, how good is it to see players come in early instead of Levy playing tricks on deadline day and then no time for the manager to get them adjusted to the tactics 🙂
Spurs fan here once again. Amazing analysis as always. He’ll be a great addition, especially on a loan. Sad to see madders injured, big blow. I believe Kulu will be used more out wide this season under frank. Nevertheless, Madders was always going to start as the 10. Kulu is also out for a good portion of the start of the season as well. We are currently in a bit of a pinch.

In the list of most tackles made in the Prem last year, Spurs' highest players were at 28, 38, 84 and 93. That is shocking. In 2023-24, Palinha was number 1.
Frank's focus on winning duels, combined with Palinha in midfield will surely mean our press will be much more effective, thereby keeping the pressure on our opponents. In preseason, we have already seen how our full backs are more comfortable and effective in Frank's system.
Apparently, we are looking at Barca's 21 year old DM, Casado. A new Palhinha who can also pick out a great progressive pass.
Is it just me or I am thinking Baleba and Mitoma it might sound crazy but if we could pull it off why not go for it. Baleba is one for the future while Mitoma has top class dribbling which would be of great use with Thomas Frank
The raises of technical no 10 with more freedom make this signing more significant.
I remember when Palhinha played for Fulham and thinking to myself, "Why can't we sign a player like this?". Now we have him!
What everyone seems to miss is, he has pl experience and was bossing the league just two years ago. Much more sensible to get him then to splash on someone who's never played in the pl. Getting him in for this ( and the next 2-3) year allows either someone like gray or another new signing from abroad time to get settled through the easier fixtures
If Palhinha is as good as Victor Wanyama, we will challenge for the EPL league.
Im not a fan of his tackling though. He does too much of that. Victor Wanyama rarely resorted to tackling.
Hope TF can coach him to anticipate better meaning less tackling.
