Matheus Nunes to Wolves – Record Transfer For Wolves, Insight On The Player

  1. If Traore signs a new deal, Raul hits form or we sign a new striker this team is looking absolute quality. Top half finish easy. Future is bright, great transfer window

  2. Loved Alex's energy and enthusiasm in the interview. You did well to keep steering him back on subject lol. But was great to hear his overall thoughts on Wolves and our wider squad. Can't wait for Nunes to be unleashed!

  3. Benfica and sporting are conveyer belts for talent. It won't take long for sporting to replace Nunes from within. I'm still head scratching as to how Wolves got this one over the line, but over the line they have, and it's to be applauded. With a huge chunk of help from Jorge Mendes. We're very fortunate to have Matheus Nunes represent our club

  4. Bruno said to trust him and the board, I was one of those slating fosun and Sellars and I'm happy to eat my words. This has the potential to be our best season in the Premier league.

  5. I watched a video with lots of clips of Nunes last night. WOW what a talent. Watching his skill and balance reminded me of Johan Cruyff in his prime. Combined with the passing ability of Paul Scholes. Fantastic buy.

  6. If all the pieces fall into place nicely, I think Wolves status as a club may change pretty fast. If we qualify for Europe next year, I don't think players like Nunes would feel any urge to move to other clubs. I did read somewhere that Nunes was reluctant to move abroad because of Sportings involvement in Champions league this season (so he's not entirely rootless ;=). Interest from a club of Barcelona's stature would be interesting to most players though.

  7. Nunes is an absolute win win for us, if he leaves next year then we had a year with a superstar and probably doubled our investment, if he stays then we've had years of a superstar helping us build.

  8. Superb video Dave. With this midfield and a change of mind set by Adama, The Wolves can have the ability to tear teams apart. Long may it continue!!! Could we hit Europe perhaps inside next two seasons? It’s not beyond a dream and it’s not an impossible dream either.

  9. Career path has been one to two seasons per club as his ability kicks on. Wouldn't be surprised to have him for two years max, so just enjoy it!

Psychically he reminds me of Zidane; big guy with great control, who can ghost passed players in tight positions and then break forward. If he's 25% the player Zizou was he'll be class.

  10. Great pod, have to hear it from the fans who actually watch Sporting. But Alex forgot to mention the massive Portuguese population here in Toronto, Wolves need to come for pre-season! Tens of thousands of people who know how to pronounce Matoosh Noonsh(not me).

  11. Thing is unless we get players that are willing to stay and build a quality team at wolves then we aint gonna develop.top 7 finish then they leave and same thing happens as has been since we came up!!!

  12. This is a huge signing for Wolves, Nunes is such a massive talent and along with Neves will be great in the midfield. Exciting times ahead especially if we can keep our core players.

  13. Wolves can demonstrate that they’re NOT typical by keeping him and building a stronger club and not selling our people to the so-called “top six”. I guess business is business, but a stronger Premier League is one which isn’t predictable and builds up all of its teams to enable them to have a level chance at winning. A “super league” is a league of twenty strong teams. Leave skilled players where they are, and the notion of a “top six” won’t exist anymore. Manchester United (and clubs of that ilk)shouldn’t be guaranteed anything, apart from what they earn on the field.
