  1. don’t think they wanted him, doesn’t fit the model! I agree would of brought a wealth of experience to the squad!!! we only seem to be interested in signing africans

  2. What a shame because when we are under the cosh he would have been a massive calming influence….this is why the model is so under the spotlight, all we seem to be doing is buying young players this won't work in this premier when we play the big boys we've no experience and it's goinging to cost us very dear indeed, having said that maybe we are after a bit younger player with experience from the prem….hope these guys know what they are doing …a bit worrying to be honest all we are is Africa fc right now.

  3. He was never on Sunderland's radar. The club have stated this. He could well be in a relegation struggle. You should never go back 😒Where would he fit into the team ?

  4. We haven't missed out! We are a project , its 15 years since he was here, The Premier leagueis a young man's league , we have up to now bought some class players , whose value is only going to go up , if the plan works out !
Sign8ng for nostalgia, whatever the guys history doesn't make financial sense, im guessing he still wants a fat wage packet , don't get me wrong , love the guy and he loves the club , but Liverpool got his best, and we got the massive Danns !😂😂😂😂 thank you Liverpool , hope your medical staff have been on a refresher course before any incoming this season

  5. We weren't after him from what I understand. Not sure he would've fit our counter attacking style of play with rapid transitions and pace required. Good luck to him at Brentford. Onward and upward for Sunderland, relics not required.

  6. As others have said below Cabbie, and Phil Smith at the Sunderland Echo, Hendo wasn't on Sunderland's radar for the new season. TBH, SAFC have a new generation of players now and Dan Neil holds the position that Hendo would have probably taken. I don't think Hendo has the legs to keep up with what Le Bris is trying to create. I appreciate that Hendo has a talent and reads a game well, but lets give Neil a chance and the new lads who are canny in midfield position. I love harmless nostalgia, but Henderson isn't the future. Good luck to him, he's got some boots to fill now that Brentford have let Norgaard go to Arsenal.

  7. Just because it’s your boyhood club, doesn’t say you have to return back. His affection for Sunderland will never fade. However, as a football player you’re not monetarist for a particular long career. It’s more likely to be a family decision

  8. Makes sense. We're a newly promoted side, the possibility of relegation is very real. We can't saddle ourseleves with the sort of wages Henderson would want. He's a player with no resale value. We can't give out a daft contract to a player who has no resale value. We've been down that road before.

  9. Sod the manaement this is typical of them. They may own the club but not the hearts of the supporters, it's time to thumb the nose at this foreign French lot and those who kiss his arse but true supporters know who we would rather have and it's not this load of foreign rubbish that will not keep us up!

  10. maybe it could be hes wage demands and possibly hes too old now @ 35 could of been offered a coaching role for the under 21's at sunderland but that's footy for yeah @ least hes joined a team with red n white colours of brentford FC… KTF

  11. It would of been a great homecoming cabbie !!! But am not really too disappointed !!! and at 35 years of age the legs could go at any time especially running with all these youngsters in the team & I wouldn't like to see him embarrassed !!! That really would be a shame but we move on to the next target HAWAY THE LADS❤❤❤

  12. Think about it ! Be good to have his experience and he is a legend at SAFC but look what happened when Defoe returned and how that turned out. Jordan and Defoe will always be welcome at SOL but we have some good players here now who should be allowed to play and progress, no good living in the past 🇦🇹

  13. Our current model, his age and wages would put off most clubs. With the signing we’ve made and how free flowing the midfield will be where would he fit in, we have Rigg and Neil even though i would have loved him back to help develop them two further perhaps he just doesn’t fit

  14. I know he was youg but the player I remembered was 1 that couldn't get a cross past the 1st man couldn't tackle well so I was hoping to see some the skill we knew he had & saw at LFC never mind we move on

  15. At least it will be a new challenge for Jordan. Btw Brentford need him to replace Nordgarrd who went across West London to North London to join my second team Arsenal. 🤔

  16. Mackem cabbie we're still short back and forward if we're gonna stay up Premier League we have to
Strong defence and a proper striker I am not sure Mayenda and Wilson are good enough for
    Premier League ?
