Gonçalo Ramos is on fire! Benfica’s penalty box striker is lighting up the Portuguese league this season as well as scoring a hat-trick for Portugal at the World Cup. Ten Hag & United have been vocal about the need for striker reinforcements and the pressure on signing one is beginning to mount.

So a striker on many peoples lips is the ascending Goncalo Ramos, as one to keep an eye on

…. and although he’d all but be ruled out in terms of a transfer in January, keeping an eye on the takeover and how that could affect our transfer policy, we can’t afford to miss out on the next best striker in the market right now.

Goncalo Ramos is one of the most all-round strikers in Europe right now and is still improving.

He’s started the season on FIRE!
15 goals in 22 games
World Cup Hat-trick

He’s got the stature and build to hold defenders off and is physical enough to lead the line on his own

He’s become extremely deadly in the area, and his movement in the box is predatory – he’s a sensational header of the ball and scores a lot of his goals in the air.

He hits the ball well off both sides and prefers to hit a lot of shots the first time, which is a testament to his movement in and out of the box.

Another positive aspect of Ramos’ game is his defensive contribution.
He is effective at winning the ball back for his team and is clever and disciplined in how he hunts the ball down.

His quickness, alertness and defensive work rate all combine to make this an effective aspect of his game.

He’s got the potential because one of the main assets of a quality striker is his decisiveness and decision-making, which usually comes later on in your career, but he’s got that already
he comes in young and for a good price
fits the profile of an ETH CF
this is probably the cheapest he’s going to be

He comes in as a starter/ascending prospect without necessarily having the weight on his shoulders a big-money striker signing would have

According to Portuguese outlet Record, who claim that that Ramos tops Erik ten Hag’s shortlist of players, have stated that;

“Manchester United are set to battle Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United for Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos in the January transfer window.”

Whether United can afford to make a move for a player so critical to Benfica’s success this season remains to be seen.

Financially, United do not seem to be in a position to compete with their rivals for permanent signings and look to be exploring loan opportunities instead.

So the man who scored a hat-trick for Portugal against Switzerland in the last 16 of the World Cup earlier this month and has a €120m (£103m) release clause in his current contract so may not be one for next month but reports suggest Ten Hag is a fan of him looking into the future.

  1. He wouldn't have played a minute at the WC if Jotta was fit.
No club worth its salt would want to release a top center forward midway through the season for the following reasons:.
    1. Not enough time for them to find adequate replacement; which could derail their season.
    2. Why would they let him go midway through the season if he's that good?

Lets stick to what we've got and give minutes to our academy players for now.
We'd do our shopping come summer, it's right around the corner anyway.

  2. This guy would be great, but can't our scouts get going for once, City got Alverez for cheap, there is a good striker right now who is 18 months will be worth 75 million, lets find them.

  3. I just a want a centre forward that’s gonna press and also score goals like a mitro,Vlahovic, or david.
kamada would be decent as second striker or attacking mid he’s contract is up on the summer so we can get on Bosman type deal,we don’t have a like for like replacement for Bruno or maybe Erickson but I’d love ❤️ Joâo Pedro at Watford 21 he’s a player who at the moment you say 25-30 million playing in the championship.I can see him been worth 70-80 in 2 seasons if he moves too another premier league side like say a Everton or wolves 🐺 who he’d be better suited as they desperately need a striker.
But we always seem to go for players who are already established in big leagues and we often get caught with our pants down over transfers.

  4. I would definitely take him. He is class! I don't think anyone will get Ramos until summer because there just isn't enough time to find a decent replacement for him. I don't want middle-eastern owners, although I know they would definitely pump money into the club. Hopefully, we get an owner who gives a damn about United & wants to help get us back to winning the league every season. I sincerely hope that we do get Goncalo Ramos, whether it's here in January or the summer. Ste , your videos are absolutely class! Love the content you & the lads put out. Brilliant! Keep kicking ass my friend! Happy New Year to you & your family. All the best in '23👍

  5. So he's basically just started scoring this season? I wouldn't trust this. Far too many players get reputations they haven't earned and probably will never earn. I think we'll just get duped paying £50m+ for someone who's done nothing of note in the game.

  6. I'm in a cynical mood, and I really haven't seen much of this lad, but I'm gonna go ahead and say in 5 years time people will say of him "oh yeah, that's that dude who scored a hattrick in the World Cup and now he's coming off the bench for Panathinaikos." I hear the analysis and how it points to him being elite, etc. but for now he's just a flash in the pan who hasn't proved anything much about his ability to cope with the pressure at the top. You might as well be Steve Bruce telling me about great Amr Zaki is gonna be.

  7. Unlike Newcastle we already have a decent squad and will only have to buy few players but good players unlike Newcastle who have to buy a whole team
