  1. For all the control SAF had over thr club, people forget that power was granted not simply taken.

    The club would have consulted him 1st. He would have done what was better for the team, no doubt with a little compromise.

    It was no good going for top class managers after He was gone and not allowing for at least a bit of that power to also go to them.

    Instead the inability to effect outcomes provided irritation that breaks down relationships and screws any chance of cohesion throughout the whole club. It's not just about how much money a manager gets to chuck at a transfer window.
