Martin is moving quickly to rebuild Rangers’ squad following a trophyless season last time out.
The former Southampton boss now feels Coady’s experience of Premier League football will benefit his side.
Joe Rothwell, Max Aarons and Thelo Aasgaard have already been poached from English clubs.
Rangers were too easy to score against under Philippe Clement with his defensive signings of Robin Propper and Jefte have so far not proved successful.
Jack Butland’s form has also eroded which contributed to their defensive frailty, and Martin has been exploring the option of reuniting with Aaron Ramsdale to strengthen that position.
Coady’s leadership should help organise Martin’s team and make them a tougher side to beat.
