A bit off topic but still related to this signing. Being half Portuguese and half Dane I can´t help the grin on my face, Emile is tailor made for Mourinho´s mentality but I am afraid the Tottenham of old is gone. From the pre-season matches it seems at times that the team is locked in place, rigid, out of ideas and frankly some of the players just don´t seem too happy with playing football.
Chelsea was with it´s fighters tailor made for Mourinho, he could grind and had the attacking power to get a result. I just fail to see a creative mastermind in Emile. He is not Deco, Fabregas, Ozil nor Snejder, could perhaps be a Gudjohnson equivalent. All players that were crucial to Mourinho´s various successes, maybe I am all confused about this and Emile isn´t at all bought to cover a playmaking role, but then who is?
The last thing I just wanted to add is that I feel a lack of energy when the Tottenham squad is on the pitch, it started with Pochettino and has carried over. Some players just don´t seem bothered or simply lost their "mojo".
This guy is genuinely playing with his hearth on the field. I remember 5 years ago when he was 19 years old playing for the national team. The post match interview he was crying after a win vs Serbia, he were so passionated i got goosebumps 🙂 The match came shortly after his father died to cancer and his childhood friend Youssef Poulsen who were the same age also lost his father to cancer, you could really feels the emotions. I really hope he step up to the challenge and perform at Tottenham!
