    Ansu Fati has burst on to the scene. He has hit some Barcelona milestones quicker than Lionel Messi did. Although let’s not start that comparison yet.

    His future at the Catalan club is not as secure as it might seem. A change in agents and disputes over clauses in existing contracts may mean that Barcelona have a struggle to keep their Spanish international wonder kid.

      Club's 3rd highest earner? What a joke. Fati is important, but he's only 18. You can't give 20M+ contracts to players who haven't been world class for years, let alone have less than 2 years of experience. Even, Kevin De Bruyne earns 16.5M in City.

      This is why agents like Mendes and Raiola are cancers to clubs, but guardians to their agents. Their clients have their reasons ($$) to hire them, but to hire one before even turning 18 reeks of insecurity, or greed.

      So, basically Barcelona board shot themselves on the foot? 3 different contract extensions in a year, and they couldn't raise his last year permanently from 2022 to 2024? Enter Mendes, he exploits a loophole, and demands ridiculous 20M salary for a 18 year old. If Barcelona could unilaterally extend his contract to 2024, they would have done it already, no? Now, they must make Fati 3rd highest earner in the club, or risk losing him for free in 18 months.

      I think something has to be done over these unrealistic release clause. I think £200 million should be the cap at which a player can have a release clause. Neymars transfer ruined the transfer market and this £400 million release clause is gonna make it worse.

      Barcelona's wage budget has exploded out of control, Ansu Fati's wage demands are upwards of £400,000 per week, compare that to a similar breakthrough player at a comparatively wealthy club (Greenwood at Man Utd) who currently earns £40k per week, it highlights the mess Barcelona have found themselves in when it comes to wages.

      Imo he is overrated. What has he done to get this much hype? He is not fast and doesn't have power in his shots. He is also not a good dribbler. I'm a Barca fan but i don't get the hype around fati

      I agree Fati has the potential to be the future face of barca, but mendes wants him to be the 3rd highest earner right now as an 18 year old is just absurd. Imagine what legends like buckets, alba, pique, etc would feel about an 18 year old earning more than them.

      He is now #10 as of today and im sure he will be paid good as long as the performance shows for it. I dislike how the agent Mendes just came in and decided how much Fati should get paid just so he as well can more for his own pocket.
