We tried to get him
He was Unai's first choice centre back for 23-24 to sign before we ended up going for Pau Torres for that ball playing left footed centre back
Since he did snub us like Asensio did that summer too it's always funny when we later on push to get their signature later on
Asensio was our first choice number 10, we ended up with Diaby
Laporte was first choice number 6(lcb) we ended up with Pau Torres
What a surprise another Spanish player , he is only a short term fix it's obvious that Emery isn't looking to build a legacy but short term bodge jobs, we need someone who looks at all the market not just Spain and time is running out to raise money, sell the womens team and the naming rights because clubs no our situation and won't rush things and less face it the league he is in is a bit like the Scottish premier league
Supposingly he's on 400k a week.. even on a free transfer can't see him halving his wages.. 🤷🏼♂️
Personally, was very good but wouldn't touch anyone from Saudi.. I want players with appetite and would prefer to put the money on Hato who's playing in the U21's next to Maatsen.. and England have them next..!
Emery has Torres Mings & Oscan he’s unlikely to want 4 left footed centre backs I think Mings is a better defender than Pau lazy journalism because he’s Spanish even though Laporte is a good defender than Pau
I would have him instead of pau and sell pau
It should be Mings not Pau
