Ministry of Youth and Sports has written to the Ghana Football Association(GFA) to make available the contractual agreement between the football governing body and Melcom on behalf of the Black Stars.
This follows a meeting between the Ministry and the hierarchy Melcom recently. The Sports Ministry invited Melcom to explain why they have billboards about Qatar 2022.
Melcom reportedly revealed to the Ministry they have a contractual agreement with the Ghana FA as sponsors of the senior national team.
Nabila Show checks within the readership of the GFA revealed that, indeed, Melcom are sponsors of the three-times World Cup participants, but attempts to have an official response from the FA proved futile as the association is yet to respond to our queries as at the time this report was filed.
Sources tell Nabila Show the agreement is about $1 million a year until 2023. We can not, however, authenticate this figure, but what is definite is that the GFA and Melcom have a sponsorship agreement that the Ministry has requested a copy of.
GFA has made contact with Inaki Williams, Kamal Sowah is considering switching national to Belgium.
