If you throw from the wrong lie the DG god sends you OB
You can definitely tell Hailey realized she took that putt from the wrong lie. She grabs her disc looks up sees her mini and is like oh!
Let me guess. Other players on the card did not follow play, and pro her/himself did not have guts to admit mistake.
Whoops! Ended up not changing anything, but still keeps you mindful of marking.
good i love Joel, as a person. He does what he does and has fun doing it without worrying what others think. His full round on Halloween in full mime costume was epic
The worst part about Joel’s misplay is how that was at the only tournament with a official following all the cards and they didn’t even catch the Joel’s play…. Whoever was in the card should have their official status taken away if they can’t watch
If a bear foot faults in the woods and no one on the card sees it or calls it, if no designated official sees it or calls it, it never happened in regards to the player’s score unless the player calls the infraction on themselves. QA-APP-9
That is until video evidence is allowed to be presented to the TD, which will likely never be officially allowed. Until then, a penalty given by an official who uses video evidence can and should be successfully appealed.
Both players knew after they putted and both were too afraid to call themselves. They both need to be called misplays and I think it’s 2 penalty strokes
Pretty sure Hailey realized her error and then dropped the disc next to the mini. Then she picked up the mini and disc together. I’m sure she feels bad for not telling her card about her error especially since it was all captured on video.
It's not about having the integrity to admit mistakes. It's not about calling yourself out. It's about the rest of the card (or the official) doing their jobs, and no one did. Just like any other sport: if a penalty goes uncalled, it's not a penalty.
That's why I started putting my disc on top and infront of my mini when I mark my lie. Either that or back in the bag. Because I've done this same thing.
Another weird thing about this is why even bother with a mini if you're beyond circle 1? I can see if you have an obstacle near your lie, and so placing the mini lets you put your foot on the spot where your disc was. But if there are no issues with the ground around your disc, just play it from the bloody disc you threw and this never happens. I don't know if you've noticed by McBeth almost never uses a mini, even when close to the basket. He isn't worried about getting maybe 10" closer to the basket.
Haileys was a mistake, Joels was calculated giving him a better angle to the pin.
Now I wonder if I have ever done what Joel did.. Joel's is probably how I have lost several minis… lol 😆
She should have called herself on that big time…
it would not have made a score difference if Hailey was called. The OB stroke would not have counted and she would just be given one stroke for a practice throw and then have to putt from her actual lie. she could have saved par even with the misplay called

You just know Joel Freeman did that on purpose.
