Dragan was just lucky that Iran was in the easy group. And still we suffered with UAE and we almost lost to Lebanon.

CQ is not a top coach yes I agree. But the chemistry between CQ and team Melli was great unlike CQ with Egyptian or Colombian team or ancelotti bayern munich
Do you guys see the shape of the team as a 4-3-3 or will he go 5 at back? I agree about concerns in centre mid, I don’t trust nourollahi. Personally I think pouraliganji could play in DM with ezatolahi, allowing kanaani and hosseini to be CB. Then you could have jahanbakhsh Taremi gholizadeh behind azmoun or any combo of a similar 4 attacking players.

It's obvious what are tactic will be against England. PARK THE Bus!!! What else can we do. England is the worst match-up for us. Argentina, Spain and Portugal we played well against because they are finess teams per say. We kept up with them fitness wise. Iran has not played a team like England…physically strong, tall and skilled all together. I mean just look at the English players. Sterling for example…built like a horse…then look at Golizadeh for example. I hope I'm wrong but I think we will have trouble dealing with their physical abilities let alone their tactics. Hope I'm wrong. As an Iranian, I'm not being pessimistic but just trying to think with my head, not my heart. Last, I like our friendlies lined up, Uruguay is skilled and Senegal will be a test of our fitness, but not sure how it will prepare us for England's style. My concern against top teams is Taremi and Azmoun expend so much energy defending they don't seem to have the energy to attack when an opportunity arises. Iran has to be in tip top shape no question.
